The Small Business Forum is committed to assisting small business owners to learn, develop, grow and network. As such, we invite the submission of informative, small business-oriented articles for publication on the website. Our readership is predominantly Australia-based, followed by the US, England and China respectively.
We have established a range of criteria for those wishing to be considered as an endorsed Contributor. Please read this page carefully and contact us if you have any further questions.

Article Submission Guidelines

- Preferred article word count is between 400 – 750.
- Australian English spelling is to be used at all times.
- Blatant advertising is not permitted so direct mentions of author’s website are to be avoided, except in the by-line.
- All articles published will be those which hold stand-alone value. Links to other pages, websites or articles will not be accepted. The author by-line is where recognition will be achieved and will include the author’s short bio and website address.

What we avoid

- Niche-specific articles (e.g. targeted specifically towards Accountants or Virtual Assistants)
- Articles that are advertorial in nature. The author bio will contain a link back to the author’s site. Readers can easily reach the site if they want to learn more.
- Articles that require too much editing. We expect submitted articles to be publication-ready.

What we look for

- Activity that promotes Small Business Forum. This includes recent involvement in the community, such as creating or commenting on posts, sharing posts via Twitter, Facebook and other social media, and generally holding Small Business Forum in a positive light.
- Your experience is interesting and relevant.
- Your articles meet our Submission Guidelines.
- Articles that invite interaction from readers. This is usually by including questions towards the end of the article that provoke responses from readers.

You retain the copyright to your work, however by submitting an article to Small Business Forum you grant us permission to distribute your article through any medium.

Resubmission

If an article is not accepted for publication on our website, please do not be disappointed. It may just be that we have received another article that is too similar, or that it didn’t mean our guidelines. Please feel free to submit another article.
