Angry Social 'Media-ed' out of my Brain.

Is anyone as tired as I am? Well, I have been going about 12 hours a day getting all these platforms set up for my business, making connections and hating the look of my website. I hope beyond hope that eventually all of this effort will pay off.

Now I know why people pay thousands of dollars to get someone else to do it. Want to know anything about Google algorithms, SEO, Wordpress software for websites or how to keep your eyelids open? Then, I'm your man.

Fascinating stuff, but when do I actually start working?

    Sheeesh.

It does take work but if you are consistent and keep at it it will pay off too

haha Mics!! A sentiment shared by many people =)

Just remember, it's a long term investment. You won't see immediate results (like you do with traditional advertising) but it will be very helpful in building and maintaining long term client relations.

Thanks guys, for the pep up. I really needed it.

Was feeling very despondent yesterday after I realised that it takes alchemy to get Telstra to replace damaged cabling for phone and internet. My ISP, who is not Telstra, told me that it is not the cabling that is causing the drop outs for internet connection (I lost 5 hours of work the other day) but my router or ethernet cable (which I have replaced 3 times. I could write a book on troubleshooting). This is despite the fact that Telstra technicians have been out here 3 times and it has been logged that the cables are damaged. But apparently, since I can speak on the phone, then all is well in Hogwarts.

Maybe if I practiced alchemy I could turn lead into fibre optics and replace the damn cabling myself.

Oh well, off to buy a new router which I can't afford and yet another ethernet cable.

Sorry for whinging. Just so difficult to get help these days.

Don't worry Mics, we hear you! Try sending Telstra an invoice for your wasted time - I did that to Optus and they paid it (in a roundabout way!).

I've also found this sometimes to be helpful - log exactly what time and when you spoke to someone - eg: spoke to Elise at 12:45pm on 20th January who advised technician reported faulty cabling.

They tend to have records in their system documented in a similar manner so can easily find your information.

Hi Mics, most major problem of people working online is actually time. There are lots of things to learn but there are very little time. I suggest you analyze your priorities. What is the thing that is the most important to you and we can start learning from there.

I "share" your pain and I'm "following" closely behind you; I certainly don't "like" how much time I'm spending on social media.

Work on streamlining your social media platforms, for instance, we just incorporated a blog into our website - now I can post an article and then just hit facebook like or google share, tweet and they're all up to date too and I can go on to something else!

For Dean and Mics have you looked at a Social Media Manager like Hootsuite? We use Sendible because it offers us email and more tracking but hootsuite is a great free starting point!

I agree it can be tedious getting started across the interwebs but maintenance of the networks is simpler.

Just set aside an hour or two each week and commit to it. It is a slippery slope if you get carried away and find your time disappearing.

Finding a focus on quality and actual real news is worthwhile.
