Some really good tips here! Thanks guys and girls!

I actually feel like Mihad, I am not a too outgoing person by nature, can be quiet shy at times and find it hard to network. However, like Mihad, I will try to meet more new (business) people this year and improve my networking skills.

So keep them tips coming, I will suck them up like a sponge and see how much is left when I am actually at a networking event.

I think you will find that most people at these events are in the same boat. Most are thinking - I'm not an outgoing person. This is going to be hard.

Smile, talk about your business, look people in the eye and you will soon be having fun. There is generally somebody who was involved in organising who will help you feel at home.

Just jump in and do it.

I recall giving my first ever public presentation to a group of people who paid good money to come and see us. I spend two days in mortal fear. But, when it was over I felt on top of the world. I can do anything.

Might be true Matt, but to me they all look so confident in themselves and their work/abilities, scary. But jumping in one time is needed. I'm probably nervous over nothing, LOL.

Networking is good as long as the product is worth-buying. The product is always the bottom line. Anyway,
in this computer era, business success can be gained thru internet marketing and SEO. Consult the Alpha Omega

I think this is what I fear about networking groups, unfortunately...

Some personalities are just so strong!

I totally agree.. but the cool thing is that even now as we are talking about networking, that's exactly what we're doing!
